Services and Fees

    Due to the increased demands of your life, The Safeway Driving School will make every effort to accommodate your busy schedule.  In doing so, we will make every attempt to pick up your young driver at home, work, or school. 

    In order for your child obtain their junior license (Lehighton and Palmerton students only), and to receive a discount in insurance they will need a minimum of 6 hours of Behind-the-wheel practical instruction and 30 hours of classroom theory provided by your local high school or a 30 hour online course.  If your home district doesn't offer the Classroom Theory your child has the option of taking an on-line course by a Pennsylvania Department of Education approved provider.  In an attempt to make it most convenient for you, payments may be in the form of cash,  personal check, PayPal, and credit card.

****REMEMBER THE FINAL TEST MUST BE TAKEN WITH AN APPROVED PERSON OF THE SAFEWAY DRIVING SCHOOL****

You are required to have the 30 hours completed before your final scheduled driving session.

6 hours of Behind-the-Wheel practical training                              $305

 (May be paid prior to pick up using PayPal, or at pickup with cash or check.  Additional fee may be applied for excessive travel.)

Upon completion of practical driving and 30 hour Online Theory  Lehighton Area School District and Palmerton Area School District students may take their End of Skills Test with us and obtain their Jr license.

REMEMBER YOU NEED BOTH THE THEORY AND 6 HOURS OF PRACTICAL TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR YOUR INSURANCE DISCOUNT (check with your provider for savings amount).

Parallel Parking only    1/2 hour session                                                                                       $ 60

DUE TO OUR EXTREMELY FULL SCHELDULE, THERE WILL BE A $40 FEE ADDED TO ANY STUDENT THAT CANCELS WITHOUT AT LEAST A 24 HOUR NOTICE (THIS INCLUDES IF STUDENTS "FORGET" THEIR PERMITS).

Refresher Driving Before Test (includes review of parallel parking and most skills needed)        $ 60 per hour
